A Touch Of Pink & My Favorite Love Songs

For my third Valentine themed outfit, I decided to infuse a touch of sparkly pink into my outfit. I also couldn’t resist to wear my heart necklace.

Since we are in Valentine’s week, I thought I would post my favorite love songs. Some are old and some are new. What are you favorites?

1. The Lumineers: Ho Hey:

2. Whitney Houson: I Will Always Love You

3. Bryan Adams: (Everything I Do) I Do It For You

4. Goo Goo Dolls: Iris

5. Snow Patrol: Chasing Cars

6. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill: It’s Your Love

7. Bon Jovi: Bed Of Roses

8. Shania Twain: The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You)

9. Adam Sandler: Grow Old With You

10. Lifehouse: You And Me

There you have it: my top 10 favorite love songs. They are in no particular order. I picked these songs because as one point in my life they had special meaning. For example my husband sang the Adam Sandler song from The Wedding Singer at our wedding. He changed the lyrics to personalize it to us. He played Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars on his guitar for our anniversary. Lifehouse’s song came out right around when we got married. Anyways you get the picture.

May this blog inspire you to wear something sparkly and pink this week and to make your own favorite love song list.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!!

Le Coeur Blouse & Grammy Fashion

Today I am continuing my “Valentine” Themed outfit with a heart blouse. I feel a bit dressed up wearing this top just to drop my son off at school and go grocery shopping in but hey it is a beautiful top.

Since I was working on Sunday, I missed the Grammy red carpet so I did some catching up yesterday. I was also only able to watch a bit of the actual Grammys. I heard that it was one of the best ones they’ve had in a long time. I’ll start with my two favorites:

Carrie Underwood

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Carly Rae Jepsen

Weekend Fun, Family Day & Hearts

Today is the first Family Day here in BC!!!! I love holidays. This post is late today because I worked yesterday and because we were busy having fun this morning. It’s rare we get time together. My husband let me sleep in and the boys made me breakfast. Take a look at them hard at work making eggs for me.

My husband and I both got to take my son to his gymnastics class this morning. I love watching my husband’s face as he watched our son hang from the bar, somersault on the beam and play What Time Is It Mr. Wolf? We couldn’t be prouder of our son. He truly never seeks to amaze us.

On Saturday night, my husband had the guys over for a birthday poker night. Below are pictures of the booze, food and cupcakes. Let’s just say my husband was worse for wear on Sunday and I worked, so he was alone all day looking after Aiden. Let’s just it was an interesting day and it didn’t help that Aiden also had a stomach bug. They were two peas in a pod. Thankfully both are feeling much better today.

Like I said, I worked yesterday. First day back in months. I was very nervous and anxious as there are lots of changes that have happened and continue to happen. I worked with a great group of ladies yesterday, so my fears were really for nothing. It was a really nice day, had a chance to catch up with “what is new” and did a delivery. All in all it was a great day, but even after a great day, I was exhausted!!! 12 hours is a long day. Thanks guys for a great day and for easing me back into things.

Today marks the beginning of Valentine’s Week. I am a big fan of Valentine’s Day but not for the gifts; for the sentiment. I also don’t believe that Feb. 14 is the only day you show your significant other how much you care about them. Every day should be like Valentine’s Day. We should be telling and showing the people we love every day how much we love them.

So to mark Valentine’s Week, I decided to wear different Valentine’s themed outfits each day. Today I am wearing my blue and red heart sweater, with red crop pants and boots. Wearing this sweater reminds me of my boys and both my husband and son love this sweater.

Stay tuned the rest of the week for different Valentine’s themed outfits, Grammy’s fashion, my favorite love songs and my favorite romantic movies.

May this blog inspire you to do something nice for people in your life every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.

Happy Family Day Everyone and Happy Monday !!! 🙂

What’s In My Purse?

I set this post to post automatically since today is my first day back to work in 2.5 months. Between my Pericarditis, various colds my son passed on to me (I swear he is a petrie dish!!!) and Hand & Foot Disease he so kindly gave us at Christmas, I haven’t been able to work. I don’t think that my pregnant patients would appreciate me coughing like I’m a 90 yr old smoker. I’m almost 100%. I’m still coughing and my chest pain comes back on occasion but overall I’m feeling much better and since my bank account is not too happy with me, back to work I go. A lot of changes are happening at work, so I’m thankful that babies still only come out of two places!!! 🙂 Wish me luck!!!

I thought I would jump on the “What is in my purse?” blogger bandwagon. This is what’s in my purse.

IMG_1976

My Coach purse is my primary purse. I got it as a gift when in Vegas a few years ago and let’s just say I’ll either be buried with it, or pass it down to my grandchildren or daughter-in-law. 🙂 Love this purse.

I always keep a book in my purse. This one is exceptionally large so I bring it with me and keep it in my car. You never know when you’re stuck somewhere and have some time to kill.

I have 2 different packs of gum in my purse. Cinnamon is my favorite but I like to change it up and have mint as well. Yes I know what a “wild child!!!” 🙂

I also always carry with me alcohol hand sanitizer. Having a toddler and him touching everything is a recipe for this Mama to get sick and as you all read above, I need to get sick again like I need a hole in my head!!!

I have a compact mirror for lipstick touch ups.

I always carry at least one pen with me, you never know when you need one. I am very particular about my pens.

My day timer comes with me everywhere. It’s my sanity and help keeps me organized.

I always have lipgloss with me. It comes in handy at work. After 12 hours of work, my face needs all the help it can get.

Halls comes in handy especially at work. It’s dry and we talk a lot (ok I talk a lot!!! :)).

The purple thing with the Japanese symbol on it is a souvenir I got when we were in Japan. It’s a charm for good luck and good life. So far it’s served me well.

Although it rains from November to April, sunglasses do come in handy. I love my Ralph Lauren sunglasses. Cost me a small fortune years  ago but I take very good care of them. They come with a hard cover case.

Gloves are great in the morning or late at night when my car is still cold and the steering wheel is frozen.

My Coach wallet was a gift from my husband for my 30th birthday. Love it.

And last but not least,  I have to have something kid related and I found crackers in there from our play date at Strongstart. I’m surprised I don’t have a few cars in there or rocks. My son loves collecting rocks.

So there you have it: the contents of my purse. What’s in your purse?

May this blog inspire you to clean out your purse. 🙂

Happy Sunday Everyone and Happy Family Day Weekend for Everyone in BC

Girl’s Night, A Fox & Final Recap Of My 30 In 30 Challenge

It’s rare that I get to go out on a week night or that I even want to go out for that matter. A friend of mine had a small get together with some of the moms from our kid’s preschool on Wednesday night. There was 5 of us ladies and we had a blast. Too bad I had to drive as I would have enjoyed more of the wine. This is what I wore. Graphic print and color is a big trend again for Spring.

As my husband and I are getting ready in the morning, my husband calls out to me to come to the kitchen and bring Aiden. I look in our backyard, thinking that it’s a bear, but it was a fox. Sorry that the picture is hazy, I took it from inside the house. What a cute little fellow!!!

Blue Polka Dots & My Favorites From My 30 In 30 Challenge

It honestly feels like I have a brand new wardrobe, being able to select from my entire closet, not just from 30 items. It’s fabulous!!! This is how I felt after I had my son and I could fit back into my “pre-pregnancy” clothes. It’s wonderful. Today I’m wearing a blue polka dot top under a grey sweater, skinny jeans and my boots. I realized that I totally favor layering a shirt under a sweater, especially in Fall and Winter. When going over my outfits from the past 30 days I realized one of my favorite outfits was layering a blouse under a sweater. If I could recommend one staple outfit in a woman’s closet, this would be it. It’s functional, comfortable and stylish.

I thought I would share my 4 favorite looks from my challenge. Which ones are your favorites?

What I learned from this challenge is:

  1. Having lots of basics in your closet is a must.
  2. Have a few colorful accent pieces to go with your basics.
  3. It’s about quality not quantity. I’m amazed at how many different combinations I was able to make with just 30 pieces. For some pieces I picked, I only wore them once. Having quality items will not only help your clothes last longer but it will go along way with remixing your wardrobe.
  4. Give yourself exceptions when you do this challenge. I gave myself 3 exceptions because wearing sequins to drop my son off at school in black patent heels is not all that appropriate or realistic.
  5. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try things different ways.

May this blog inspire you to do your own  30 in 30 challenge. Tomorrow will be the last day of my 30 in 30 recap and I’ll be showing you the different ways I wore the same item.

Happy Thursday Everyone!!! 🙂
