Thanksgiving Feast!!!!

Jacket and White Oxford Shirt (Jacob). Jeans (Gap). Necklace (Etsy). Shoes (Aldo).

Happy Tuesday Everyone and Happy Post Thanksgiving!!!! This is what I wore to drop my son off at school today. I’m trying to get more use out of my white shirt and my pink trench coat. It’s still sunny here, but the forecast for the weekend calls for the arrival of Monsoon season!!! 😦 I’ll be very sad to see this beautiful sunshine go.

Update on my health is that my doctor isn’t happy that I am still experiencing some chest pain, and that it had worsened last week. She said that I should be on bed rest, or doing as little as possible. I wasn’t happy to hear that. I’m going stir crazy doing nothing. I did get permission to make desserts :); pumpkin chiffon pie and a chocolate cheesecake. I probably did way more than I should have and am paying for it today. I’m quite tired. So in a nut shell, I have to do less, and my doctor would like to me to follow-up with either a Cardiologist or an Internal Medicine specialist.

Regarding my health, it’s funny when people see me because they are surprised that I don’t look sick. They say to me “wow, you look really nice!!!”. I guess people were expecting me to look sick. Thankfully I don’t look sick, I just feel quite tired. I am also making a conscious effort to dress up, do my hair and make up. I don’t want to look like how I feel.

This past Saturday, my husband and I checked out the annual Western Canadian Hungarian Dance Festival that was held here. I promise I behaved myself. My husband made me swear that I would take it easy, otherwise he would rat me out to our doctor. Below is a picture of us heading out on Saturday night. I wore the dress with a leather jacket.

Dress (Gap). Leggings (Jacob). Booties (Fergalicious). Bracelets (Poshlocket). Necklace (Banana Republic).

We hosted Thanksgiving this year and we had it on Sunday, giving us Monday to recover. I spent Sunday morning making desserts and decorating the table, and then had a much-needed nap. Guests arrived at 6 and we feasted on Roast Beast, mashed potatoes, Caesar Salad, broccoli (yes, it was a hit!!!), and for dessert we had pumpkin chiffon pie and chocolate cheesecake topped with whipping cream. Below are pictures of our Thanksgiving feast. I was hoping to get a picture of my son, husband and I but it wasn’t meant to be. Too busy I guess.

Table decorated for our feast.

The two turkeys are courtesy of my son. He made them in preschool!!!! 🙂 How cute are they???

My son enjoying the Thanksgiving festivities!!!

On a complete aside, I have to mention how much I’m enjoying Aiden being in preschool, and not for the obvious reasons. On Thursday he came home and sang us his Turkey song that he had learned in school. It totally melted our hearts. He was so proud of it that he sang it to everyone. I can see how good preschool has been for him. He is learning so much and building his self-esteem. I’m one proud Mama.

A special thanks to my in-laws for all their help this weekend. I couldn’t have put this together without them.

I want to leave the biggest thanks to my husband for really doing 90% of the work this weekend. I know this hasn’t been easy for anyone, especially him. He has had to take on my role, which he has done beautifully. I am truly blessed to have such a supportive, caring husband like him. I love you Papa Bear xoxoxoxo.

I hope that you all were able to enjoy this holiday weekend with friends and family.

May this blog inspire you to host the next holiday. It is a lot of work, but so fulfilling to see your family and friends come together, and share the holidays with each other.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!! 🙂
